Pathway to Employment

Our Independent Living Skills sessions will help you with your daily life, so you can live more independently or with support.

We will work with you to prepare you for employment, so you can reach your potential in the workplace.

You will explore your job opportunities, learn through work placements and find out about your rights and responsibilities.

You will also learn how to apply for a job, provide customer service, work with others, travel within the community, and much, much more.

The skills you will develop will provide a solid foundation for your future career, whichever direction you choose.

Travel Training

If appropriate, you will learn how to travel on your own to college, work placements or in your local community. We also have our own minibuses that can provide transport for our learners to and from work placements and other activities, if needed.

Our travel training will give you the confidence to get out and about. It will help you to become more independent and to live the life you want to live.

You will learn how to use different types of transport, including trains and buses, giving you the freedom to meet friends or travel to appointments or your workplace.

Placements

You can explore your job opportunities by taking part in work placements. These will give you a real experience of employment outside the college.

You will learn how to communicate and co-operate with others in a work environment, how to talk to customers, deal with problems and overcome challenges.

You will also learn about health and safety in the workplace and gain helpful advice and guidance. Plus, you will discover the type of work you’re suited to and what you enjoy.
