Study Programme at HBVC

STUDY PROGRAMME

Our curriculum is delivered through practical based sessions which are learner led - learning through meaningful, realistic, hands-on activities that will equip them for the future they want.
Each learner will be able to make important choices about their own learning and about the direction they want their life to go in.

Following an initial assessment and discussions with each student about their long term goals and future plans, alongside parents/carers and supporters we will create a person centred plan, together. From this plan an individual learning plan (ILP) will start to be developed.

The individual learning plan will provide the information required to form an achievement route for each student towards reaching their long term goals. Choices are then be made to put together each learner’s Study Programme.

The individualised Study Programme will support the learning and development of skills, being the pathway to achieving your long term goals.
We will use a person centred planning approach throughout to support students with making their own decisions about life and learning.

Through each learner’s regular person centred review meetings, their needs and aspirations will be revisited, recognised, and threaded through their Study Programme - with us supporting progress to help learners make choices.

PERSONALISED STUDY PROGRAMME

Skills will be learned and developed in line with personalised targets through a range of work related activities. Learning will take place in a variety of settings within the college and through use of local community facilities and trips out into the wider community.

RARPA will be used as the means of recognising and recording progress and achievement.
